USA Cricket has officially unveiled the squads for the upcoming U19 Women’s National Championship, set to take place at the NY Oval in Albany, New York from June 25 to 27, 2025. The event promises a high level of competition and serves as a crucial step in the pathway to national representation for aspiring female cricketers in the United States.
One of the major highlights this year is the expansion of the U19 Women’s National Championship into a four-team event. This development reflects the increasing depth and competitiveness within the U19 age group.
Following the Intrazonal competition last month which featured 19 teams across the country, the U19 squads have been carefully constituted to form four geographically-neutral teams to ensure a competitive and balanced tournament. This structure aims to provide selectors and Hilton Moreeng, USA Senior and U19 National Team Head Coach, with an opportunity to evaluate individual performances more effectively.
“The expansion of the U19 tournament is a clear sign of the progress we’re seeing in the women’s game,” said USA Cricket Women’s Coordinator, Celeste du Toit. “Our aim is not only to ensure that players have an opportunity to showcase their skills, but also to strengthen our domestic competition by fielding balanced teams.”
Following the conclusion of the championship, selected standout performers will be invited to join the U19 Women’s national training squad. The squads are integral to USA Cricket’s high-performance program and provide structured development opportunities for players with national team aspirations.
