The USA men’s cricket team sealed a historic series win over International Cricket Council (ICC) full-member Bangladesh after beating them in the second T20I at Prairie View Cricket Complex by six runs. With three crucial wickets taken in his last two overs, fast bowler Ali Khan played a pivotal role in wrapping up the three-match series for the hosts.

Despite losing the toss and being put to bat first, the USA team saw a strong start with Steven Taylor and skipper Monank Patel setting the tone by scoring 44 runs in just over six overs. Monank later partnered with Aaron Jones to add 60 runs for the third wicket, leading to a total of 144/6 in 20 overs.

Bangladesh faced an early setback when opener Soumya Sarkar fell to Saurabh Netravalkar on only the fourth ball of their innings. Netravalkar continued his impressive form, finishing with figures of two for 15 off three overs.

While Bangladesh seemed in control at 78 for three with over nine overs remaining, Shadley Van Schalkwyk and Ali Khan, backed by exceptional fielding from the US team, triggered a collapse. The visitors lost their last seven wickets for just 60 runs before completion, resulting in Ali Khan being rightfully named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with three wickets for 25 runs in 3.3 overs.

Brief Scores:

USA 144/6 off 20 overs (Monank Patel 42 (38), Aaron Jones 35 (34) defeated Bangladesh 138/10 in 19.3 overs (Najmul Shanto 36 (34) / Ali Khan 25/3).
