Pakistan were bowled out for 115 in the third innings of the match giving Australia a meager target of 129 runs to chase in the final innings of the Test. Warner was out of Sajid Khan’s delivery who trapped him on the pads getting an LBW.
The umpire initially gave it a not-out, but Pakistan took a DRS, and the DRS showed three reds so Warner went back to the pavilion to a heroic reception from the crowd and his teammates. While going back to the pavilion he also gave his helmet and his batting gloves to a kid who was present in the crowd. David Warner bids farewell to both Test cricket and ODI cricket and will now only play T20 cricket.
After his wicket had fallen, he received a big hug from Marnus Labuschagne and was also congratulated by Sajid Khan, the bowler who took his wicket. He acknowledged the crowd by showing his bat and received a hug and a pat from Steve Smith who was coming onto the field.

David Warner decided way back in June that he would retire from Test cricket after the Pakistan series which was scheduled to end in Sydney. The New South Wales man received a lot of criticism ahead of the start of the series from his former teammate Mitchell Johnson who was not happy with the decision of giving a farewell series to David Warner.
David Warner shushed all the criticism by smashing a monumental ton in the very first innings of the series where he scored 164 off 211 deliveries. He scored a half-century in his last innings and received a well-deserved farewell to his Test career. Warner had some controversies in his career which included the infamous sandpaper-gate scandal which will remain as the dark patch of his career.
David Warner will hopefully retire from international cricket after representing Australia for the last time in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. His main focus will be on T20 leagues where Warner will likely play the last few years of his career minting some money in the cash-rich leagues. He had a stellar career with Australia and won two ODI World Cups (2015, 2023), one T20 World Cup (2021) and the ICC World Test Championship (2023) as a player.
