AUS vs PAK: David Warner Shares An Emotional Message After He Finds His Baggy Green Cap Back, Says Thank You To Everyone

David Warner lost his bag ahead of his farewell Test which contained his original baggy green cap which he got on his Test debut in 2011. The backpack which contained two caps was misplaced in transit from Melbourne to Sydney. The backpack was found at the team hotel in Sydney four days after Warner’s announcement that he had lost his backpack which contained his original baggy green. However, it is still unclear how it got there.
When four days ago he announced that his cap was lost and he needed it back, Warner added that it holds a great sentimental value to him which is true. A debut cap of a cricketer is something which he cherishes his entire life and losing it right ahead of your last Test is something that no cricketer will want. David Warner thanked everyone who was involved in the search for his original baggy green cap.
David Warner thanked everyone involved in the search in a video he uploaded on social media where he was holding his original baggy green. He said, “Hi everyone, I am very pleased and relieved to let you all know that my baggy greens have been found, which is great news. Thanks to all involved and I am extremely grateful. Qantas, the freight company, our hotels and team management. Thank you.”
David Warner was pleased to find his cap back and he showed appreciation for everyone who helped in the search in his video. He explained the special feeling that the cap holds for any cricketer and said that he would cherish this cap for the rest of his life.
In the video, he added, ” I’m pleased and relieved that I have got my baggy back in my hands. Any cricketer knows how special their cap is and I will cherish this for the rest of my life.”

A Cricket Australia spokesperson said, “The bag in which they were packed was found at the team hotel, with all the contents inside. The movements of the missing bag are unknown despite extensive searches, the review of CCTV footage at multiple locations, and the efforts of numerous parties since Tuesday.”
When David Warner revealed that the backpack that contained his original baggy green cap had not reached him, he also added that if it was taken by someone, they would not be in trouble if they returned it. It is still unknown how the backpack got to the hotel but Warner was delighted to have his cap back with him.
Ahead of his final Test, Warner used a loaned fresh cap from Cricket Australia for various photoshoots then when Australia fielded on the opening day. “It’s a huge relief David’s cap has been located and a big thank you to everyone involved in the search,” the CA CEO, Nick Hockley said. “We really appreciate it.”
David Warner was out for 34 in the first innings of his final Test. He received a guard of honour from the Pakistan players when he came to bat with his opening partner Usman Khawaja. There is still an innings left to play for one of Australia’s greatest openers in his last Test.
