Australia skipper Pat Cummins has provided an update on Travis Head’s hand injury ahead of the match against South Africa. Travis Head is a member of the Australia squad for ICC World Cup 2023 but is yet to join the squad due to an ongoing injury.
Travis Head sustained an injury on his hand during the ODI series against South Africa last month. He is a hard-hitting batter for Australia and was also named in the World Cup squad. However, he did not arrive in India due to the recovery process.

Travis Head Will Undergo Scan Tomorrow: Pat Cummins
During the pre-match press conference of the AUS vs SA match, Australia captain Pat Cummins provided an update on Travis Head’s injury. Cummins said that Head will undergo a scan tomorrow. After the report, a call will be taken if Travis Head will participate in the tournament or will be ousted from the squad.
“Yeah, no update. I think it’s tomorrow he’s getting a scan and seeing the surgeon to get an update. So hopefully next couple of days,” Pat Cummins said.

Although Australia is short of Travis Head, they have a strong squad in ICC World Cup 2023. Earlier, spinner Ashton Agar was ruled out of Australia’s squad due to an injury.
Meanwhile, Australia and South Africa are set to take on each other in their second match of the ICC World Cup 2023. Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match.
Earlier, Australia lost to India by 6 wickets in their opening match of ICC World Cup 2023. Australia failed to post a big total against India, getting out for 199 in 1st innings.
South Africa grabbed a stunning win against Sri Lanka in their opening game. South Africa posted a mammoth total of 428-5 in the match and later won the game by 102 runs. Temba Bavuma leads South Africa in the tournament.
