Former India Cricketer and Former Head Coach of the India National Cricket Team, Ravi Shastri believes that India will lift the World Cup this time. India is one of the favourites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the team has been in tremendous form since the Asia Cup 2023.
India beat Australia by six wickets in their opening match of the 2023 World Cup. Australia were bowled out on 199 at a spin-friendly track in Chennai. India did not start auspiciously, losing three wickets with just two runs on the board. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli stitched up 165 runs for the fourth wicket, putting India in a commanding position.
This was the fifth time in 13 matches that India was able to defeat Australia in a World Cup match. India is a difficult team to beat in home conditions and this time they have the home advantage which makes them the favourites to lift the World Cup.
Ravi Shastri Says India Will Win The World Cup Because Of Home Conditions
Former India Head Coach, Ravi Shastri also feels that since India is playing at home they will win the World Cup this time around. In a segment with Star Sports, Ravi Shastri was asked to give one reason why he thinks India will win the World Cup this year.
Ravi Shastri said that since India is playing at home, they have played very good cricket to start as favourites. He also said that the real game will start when the knockouts will commence. He said that his gut feeling is telling him that India will win the finals this time.
“Because they are playing at home, they’ve played very good cricket so they start off as absolute favourites. But, then again, the real game starts when you qualify for the top four and something is telling me, my gut feeling is telling me this could be the final,” said Ravi Shastri after being asked about the reason India will win this World Cup.

India will now move forward to Delhi, where they will face Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, on 11th October. India will look to gain the maximum momentum early on so that they qualify for the top four and eventually hold their nerves in the knockouts to finally lift the World Cup this time.
