Former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly wasn’t amazed by the brand of cricket the Pakistan Cricket Team is playing. He said that Babar Azam’s team was not the type of team that he used to play against during his days.
Sourav Ganguly’s comment came after Pakistan suffered a thumping loss against India in the ICC World Cup 2023 encounter at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Men in Green were outplayed by the Rohit Sharma-led side as they suffered a thrashing 8-wicket loss.
Pakistan were asked to bat first and they were bundled out for just 191 runs. Indian bowlers were all over them and even though Men in Green had partnerships, the bowlers didn’t let them settle at all. With the ball too, they weren’t up to the mark as India’s batters scored runs easily.
Captain Rohit Sharma smashed a blistering 86 runs knock whereas Shreyas Iyer chipped in as well. The batter middle-order batter smashed a vital unbeaten half-century to take his team home. With the win India extended their winning run over Pakistan in the World Cups. They have never lost against them in the 50-over tournament. This was the 8th time when they thumped them.
Sourav Ganguly while talking about the Pakistan team said that they can’t handle pressure and it will be difficult for them to come back in the World Cup. As quoted, by Times of India, he elaborated:
“During our time Pakistan was a different team, this is not the type of Pakistan team we used to play. This team can’t handle the pressure during the batting. It will be hard for Pakistan to come back in this World Cup with this batting.”

India captain Rohit Sharma was in a different mood against Pakistan. He came out all guns blazing and smashed them all over the park. Sourav Ganguly was amazed with the way he batted and praised him.
Sourav Ganguly also pointed out that India’s batting, bowling and fielding is firing up at the right time, which is good for the team. He elaborated:
“Rohit played superbly against Pakistan. India’s every department is doing well. Batting, bowling and fielding is firing together and at the right time.”
India will be next seen in action when they will take on Bangladesh next on Thursday (19th October). Pakistan will be next seen in action when they will take on Australia next on Friday (20th October) in Bengaluru.
