Indian keeper-batter KL Rahul opened up about how he deals with social media hatred. The Karnataka batter admitted that the trolls that he faces are not easy to deal with and added that he lets his bat reply to all of the hatred.
KL Rahul few months ago was one of the most hated cricketers in India. The keeper-batter faced a lot of criticism for his poor show with the bat and also a lot of blame was on him for Team India’s losses in big games.
Not only fans but many ex-cricketers too lashed out at him. He was also dropped from the Indian team and there were a lot of questions related to his place in the team. The batter also underwent a series of low scores and had torrid outings in most of the games.
KL Rahul then got injured as well but his comeback was nothing short of exceptional. The keeper-batter set the stage on fire in white-ball format and played a huge role for India in the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC World Cup 2023.
KL Rahul was one of the mainstays for the team in the batting department in both tournaments. He played some blistering knocks in the important games and made sure that he helped his team win the crucial games.
If this was not enough, KL Rahul then made a staggering comeback in Tests. In the ongoing Test against South Africa, he played one of his best knock in the longest format of the game. The batter slammed a stupendous ton and bailed India out of trouble.
When India were tumbling at 107/5, KL Rahul stepped up for his team and hit a staggering century. He scored 101 runs and helped his team post a total of 245 runs, which didn’t look possible at one stage. However, the keeper-batter chipped in at a crucial stage and played sensationally well.
During the press conference after Day 2 of the ongoing Test, KL Rahul was asked how he deals with so much social media hatred. Replying to this, he said: “it is not easy.”
KL Rahul was then asked if he felt like sometimes expressing himself on social media?; to which he said: “I let my bat do all the talking.”

IND vs SA: I am quite humbled to hear this – KL Rahul reacts to praise by Sunil Gavaskar
After KL Rahul slammed a sensational ton, Sunil Gavaskar lavished rich praise on the Indian keeper-batter. He said that the knock of the Karnataka batter was in the top 10 of India’s Test history.
Reacting to that, KL Rahul said that said that he is humbled to hear the praise of Sunil Gavaskar. He highlighted that he knew that he had to bat with the tailenders and the pitch was difficult. He explained:
“I am quite humbled to hear this. Today and yesterday I knew I had to bat with the lower batsmen. It was difficult to bat here. There was cover on the pitch for a long time. There was damp in it. It was enough for the bowlers. I wasn’t doing this for the first time.”
