India squad announcement for the last three Tests against England delayed due to this reason

India’s squad for the last three Tests against England is all set to be announced on Friday (9th February) as per the reports in Sports Tak. The reason behind that is that team management and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are awaiting the fitness reports of two of the key players.

The Indian squad for the last three Tests against England reportedly was slated to be announced on 8th February. However, it now has been delayed as the team management is yet to gain full updates on the fitness reports of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul.

Both Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul got injured after the first Test and missed the second game. The reports suggested that both the players have been recovering well and might be in contention to play the third game, slated to take place from 15th February in Rajkot.

There are high chance that KL Rahul will be back in the mix for the third Test as he has recovered well from the quadriceps pain. Whereas all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s return will be dependent only after team management assesses his hamstring injury.

Virat Kohli reportedly is too likely to miss the remaining three games of the series against England. The batter has asked for leave due to a family emergency. With him expected to be out, it is likely that Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan will retain their place in the squad.

One of the key things that will be to watch out for is whether Shreyas Iyer will retain his place in the team or not. The batter has come under a lot of firing line due to his poor failures in Test cricket and it won’t be a surprise if he gets dropped from the team, especially with KL Rahul set to return.

Shubman Gill also came under the firing line for his failures and there were calls to replace him from the team. But he returned to form in the last innings of the last game. The batter slammed a magnificent ton and helped India win the game and level the five-match series 1-1.

Jasprit Bumrah expected to play the third India vs England Test

Since the last couple of days, there have been a lot of reports that Jasprit Bumrah might be rested for the third game against England. This came in the wake of his workload management, especially him bowling around 58 overs in the first two games itself.

However, recent reports have suggested that Jasprit Bumrah will be playing the match because of Rajkot’s surface-favoring pacers. The team management wants him to be there for the third game, especially after the kind of impact he has had in the first two games.

Jasprit Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker for India in the ongoing series. He has taken 15 wickets in two games so far. With surfaces favoring spin, he has oozed his class and has been sensational. He recently became the No.1 ranked Test bowler in the world.
