According to reports, the Lucknow Super Giants franchise is set to witness massive dropouts as 8-9 players are going to be released from the squad. Lucknow Super Giants is one of the newest teams in IPL, which joined the league in the 2022 season.
The IPL 2024 auction is set to take place on December 19 in Dubai. Ahead of the auction, all the IPL franchises are going to release their retention lists today. November 26 is the deadline to submit retention lists to the BCCI.

Lucknow Super Giants To Witness Multiple Releases- Reports
According to reports from Cricbuzz, Lucknow Super Giants is set to witness multiple releases from the squad ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. Some confirmed players to be released are Manan Vohra, Suryansh Shedge, Karan Sharma, and Swapnil Singh.
Some other foreign players are also expected to be dropped. Notably, there were reports that skipper KL Rahul might be traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore for the next season, but according to the latest reports that ain’t true and Rahul has been retained by the franchise. Reports suggest that LSG is looking to capture around 20-25 crores for the mini-auction. Hence, they are going ahead with many releases in the squad.
LSG Has Made Two Trades Ahead of IPL 2024 Auction
LSG has already made two transfers ahead of the auction. They have grabbed Devdutt Padikkal from Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Avesh Khan. They also traded Romaria Shepherd to Mumbai Indians.
Lucknow Super Giants showed an amazing form in the last two seasons. In both seasons, LSG qualified for playoffs and lost the Eliminator match. In the 2022 season, LSG lost the Eliminator game to RCB. In the 2023 season, LSG lost the Eliminator clash to Mumbai Indians.
