PAK vs AUS: Advocate Vineet Jindal Receives Death Threats From Hizbul Mujahideen For Filing Complaint Against Mohammad Rizwan

Vineet Jindal, the Delhi-based advocate, who had filed a complaint against Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, has received a life threat from a terrorist organisation.

Earlier this week, he had filed a complaint against Mohammad Rizwan for offering Namaz (prayer) on the playing field during the World Cup match between Pakistan and the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Vineet Jindal wrote a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and urged the governing body of the game to take action against Rizwan. In his writing, the advocate stated that Rizwan’s act of offering Namaz in the middle of a cricket match was an ‘intentional depiction of his religion’ and called it against the spirit of the game. Sharing the letter on X (formerly Twitter), he tagged the ICC, BCCI and the PCB.

The PCB also lodged a protest with the governing body of the game over the lack of visas issued to Pakistani journalists and fans for the ongoing World Cup.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over delays in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023,” the PCB posted on X. “The PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct targeted at the Pakistan squad during the India vs Pakistan match held on 14 October 2023.”
