PAK vs NZ; Abrar Ahmed Ignored PCB’S Rehab Advise Despite Repeated Warnings Which Led To Him Being Ruled Out Of Australia And New Zealand Tours

Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed had to skip the entire Test series against Australia because of an injury. The medical report has revealed that Abrar’s condition was a consequence of his ignorance of the instructions given by the medical panel. According to a local media report, Abrar chose not to adhere to the doctor’s advice regarding his injury management and now it has come back to haunt him.

According to the medical report, Abrar Ahmed was diagnosed with Sciatica. It is a condition that is marked by leg pain, tingling, or numbness. His first experience of this discomfort came in his right hip during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

After that, he promptly underwent testing, which resulted in Sciatica. After the diagnosis, a recovery plan was created for the spinner. However, Abrar Ahmed somehow failed to follow these instructions which has led to him missing out on another series.

Abrar Ahmed got injured during a four-day warm-up match in Australia against the Primer Minister’s XI, where he complained about some pain and discomfort in his right leg during the third day’s play. He was eventually ruled out of the series after the injury occurred. Abrar Ahmed is currently in rehab and is recovering from his injuries at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Consequently, Abrar Ahmed will miss the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand which is set to commence on January 12 in Auckland. He was named in the squad for the series when the team was announced but now will have to miss the series because of the injury he got due to his ignorance. Pakistan will play five T20Is against New Zealand in the series and it will be the first time when Shaheen Shah Afridi will be leading the side.

Pakistan Was Whitewashed By Australia In The Test Series

Australia thrashed Pakistan by 3-0 in the Test series and extended their wait for a Test victory in Australia. Pakistan has not won a Test match in Australia since 1995  and the 29-year-old jinx has been extended by the Australians after they whitewashed Men in Green. The Shan Masood-led team was completely outplayed by the Aussies and they failed to perform to their full potential in the series.

Babar Azam had a terrible outing in the series as he failed to score even a single fifty-plus score in six innings in this series. Not a single player from Pakistan scored a century in the three-match Test series against Australia. The batters were shambolic in the series and the whole burden came on the lower-order batters to keep the scoreboard ticking. Aamer Jamal was the only positive for Australia in the series as he impressed with both bat and ball.

The series was the last for Australian opener David Warner in red-ball cricket as he retired from the format. He was presented with a signed jersey of Babar Azam as a farewell gift from the Pakistan team after the series was concluded in Sydney. Pakistan is currently sixth in the WTC points table.
