After their historic Indian Premier League (IPL) title win earlier this year, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have soared to the top of the franchise valuation charts, overtaking the likes of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) to become the league’s most valuable team, with a valuation of $269 million.
The joint most successful franchise- Mumbai Indians now sit second with a brand value of $242 million, while CSK—previously the most valuable franchise—dropped to third place with a valuation of $235 million, following an underwhelming season.
“The tournament’s success underscored cricket’s growing appeal beyond its historical strongholds and highlighted the potential for future growth in emerging markets,” says Harsh Talikoti, director, Corporate Valuation Advisory Services, Houlihan Lokey.
Among other teams, Punjab Kings (PBKS) showed the highest year-on-year growth at 39.6%, reaching a valuation of $141 million. Their rise was credited to an impressive run to the finals, a bold auction strategy, and robust online fan engagement.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), two-time champions, are ranked fourth at $222 million, followed by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in fifth with $154 million. Delhi Capitals (DC) occupy sixth place at $152 million, with Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at seventh and eighth, valued at $146 million and $142 million, respectively.
A recent report by Houlihan Lokey highlights the IPL’s impressive financial growth, revealing that the league’s overall business value has risen by 12.9% year-on-year, reaching $18.5 billion in 2025. The standalone brand value of the IPL itself has also seen an increase of 13.8%, growing to $3.9 billion compared to the previous year.
