Tanmay Agarwal achieves astonishing milestone in First-Class Cricket with triple ton in Ranji Trophy

 

Hyderabad opener Tanmay Agarwal has achieved an impeccable milestone in First-Class Cricket. Tanmay Agarwal shattered a triple century against Arunachal Pradesh in Ranji Trophy 2023-24. The left-handed batsman stormed the fourth-highest knock ever by an India in FC.

Tanmay Agarwal opened the innings for the Hyderabad team in their Ranji Trophy 2023-24 match against Arunachal Pradesh. The left-handed batter shattered 366 runs off 181 balls to showcase a nerve-wracking performance with the bat and script history books.

Agarwal faced 181 deliveries during his knock and shattered 34 boundaries and 26 sixes at a strike rate of 202+. He also registered the record for the fastest triple century in First Class Cricket with off 147 balls.

Tanmay Agarwal Scores 4th Joint-Highest Knock In First-Class Cricket

Tanmay Agarwal has registered the record for joint-highest knock in First-Class after his triple century in Ranji Trophy 2023-24. The Hyderabad star shares the record with M. V. Sridhar, who shattered 366 against Andhra Pradesh in 1994.

The top three knocks by Indian players are by Bhausaheb Nimbalkar, Prithvi Shaw, and Sanjay Manjrekar. Nimbalkar slammed unbeaten 443* in 1948 and it remains the top knock by an Indian player in FC cricket.

Last year, Prithvi Shaw shattered 379 in the Ranji Trophy. Sanjay Manjrekar slammed 377 in 1991 and it grabs the 3rd spot on this list. Interestingly, Bhausaheb Nimbalkar is the only Indian batter to smack a quadruple ton in First-Class Cricket.

Notably, Brian Lara holds the record for the top knock in First-Class Cricket among international players. The former West Indies batter has hit 501 runs. Hanif Mohammed takes the spot with a 499-run knock.

Former Australia skipper Sir Don Bradman steals the 3rd spot with an unbeaten 452. India’s Bhausaheb Nimbalkar takes the 4th spot with an unbeaten 443 while Bill Ponsford is in the 5th place with a 437-run knock in FC cricket.

In the 2nd innings, AP reached 95-1 till lunch break. The Ranji Trophy encounter takes place at NexGen Cricket Ground in Hyderabad. For Hyderabad, Chama V Milind and Kartikeya Kak picked 3 wickets each.

Hyderabad is a member of Plate Group in Ranji Trophy 2023-24. They have won all 3 matches so far and have 21 points. Meghalaya takes the 2nd spot with 2 wins and 1 defeat in 3 matches. With three defeats in 3 games, Arunachal Pradesh is stationed at the last 6th spot in the Plate group.
