Watch – Adil Rashid Outsmarts Shadab Khan With A Perfect Googly

The England National Cricket Team leg-spinner Adil Rashid rattled the stumps of the Pakistan National Cricket Team all-rounder Shadab Khan in the 44th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, November 11.

While defending a mammoth total, the English leggie looked quite threatening. He bowled impeccable lines and lengths and didn’t let the Pakistan batters breathe. He started off by picking the wicket of Saud Shakeel, who is considered a good player of spin-bowling, in the 28th over of the innings.

Rashid wasn’t done there as he then bagged his second wicket of the match by dismissing the out-of-form Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan in the 32nd over.

In the 32nd over, Adil Rashid outsmarted the Pakistan all-rounder by bowling a few away spinning deliveries before spinning one back in. Shadab Khan tried to counter the lovely googly from Adil Rashid with a lazy swing and the ball went through the huge gap between bat and pad to destroy the stumps. The all-rounder was dismissed after scoring 4 runs off 7 balls, with one boundary.

Earlier, England National Cricket Team won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. They batted very well and smashed the Pakistan bowlers all over the park. The struggling Pakistan bowling unit wasn’t able to restrict the Jos Buttler-led side to a low total and ended up conceding 337 runs.

The right-arm express pacer Haris Rauf, who now holds the record for conceding most runs in a single edition of the World Cup, was the pick of the bowler for Pakistan against England. He bagged three wickets in the match. Also, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr bagged two wickets each while Iftikhar Ahmed picked one wicket.

Chasing a humongous total, Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique failed miserably. The duo were back in the hut inside 3 overs, leaving Pakistan tottering at 10/2. After that, the dependable duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam tried to steady the ship. They played quite slowly and were dismissed without registering any big scores.

Then, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals before the tailenders brought out a good fight. However, it wasn’t enough as the Men In Green were bundled out for 244 in 43.3 overs.
