What Is Gautam Gambhir’s Life’s Most Defining’ Moment? Former Opener Gives A Cheeky Reply

Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir’s 97-run knock in the final of the ODI World Cup 2011 is one of the least talked innings in the history of Indian cricket. Every time it is skipper MS Dhoni’s six to Nuwan Kulasekara and his 91-run innings that overshadows Gambhir’s knock.

However, Gautam Gambhir was an integral part of the Indian cricket team and has played several match-winning knocks for the country. It was Gambhir’s 75-run innings that played important in helping India win the 2007 T20 World Cup and the same was the case in 2011.

Gautam Gambhir reveals his most defining moment of his life

How can I say anything except marrying Natasha! Ghar pe rehna hai na! https://t.co/YEAQEZAyxx

Gautam Gambhir recently started a ‘Q&A’ session with his fans on ‘X’ and asked them to ask him questions using the hashtag #AskGG.

During the session, a fan asked him what had been the most defining moment of his life. In any case, he would have given an answer related to his cricketing career, but Gautam Gambhir gave a cheeky reply to the question.

Answering the question Gautam Gambhir wrote, “How can I say anything except marrying Natasha! Ghar par rehna hai na”.

Gautam Gambhir married her life partner Natasha Jain in October 2011 and the couple has been blessed with two daughters.

Gautam Gambhir has played a total of 242 international matches for the Indian cricket team and has scored 10324 runs. Gambhir has slammed a total of 20 hundreds followed by 63 half-centuries.

Gautam Gambhir has scored runs at an average of 38.95 whereas his strike rate has been 68.85. Gambhir announced his retirement from international cricket in the year 2019 and since then has been playing a different innings off the field.

Gautam Gambhir is currently the mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders and has won two titles while captaining the franchise. Gambhir now will mentor the franchise in 2024.

Before mentoring Kolkata Knight Riders, Gambhir also mentored Lucknow Super Giants for two editions and led them to two playoffs in both seasons.

Now, when he is all set to start a new journey with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he will want the franchise to get its hands once again on the trophy after 2014.

KKR had a golden period when Gambhir was the captain of the franchise but ever since his departure, the team has not been able to perform well in the tournament and has been mostly knocked out of the playoffs every time after 2014.

KKR’s last best performance came in IPL 2021 when they reached the final after a forgettable first leg by an absolute ‘miracle’ in the second leg.

KKR has roped in ace Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and with Gautam Gambhir in the corner to mentor him, Starc might be one of the most lethal weapons for KKR in the IPL 2024.

Gautam Gambhir is also seen doing commentary and giving expert advice during various cricket matches. Gambhir is majorly known for his blunt opinions on various issues.
