Zimbabwe Women won the first ODI against the United States Women by 5 wickets in Harare yesterday.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Zimbabwe bowled the USA all out for 152 in 43.5 overs. Anika Kolan top-scored for the USA with 37 runs and Tara Norris made her USA ODI debut with a 31-run contribution and picked up a handy two wickets in her 6 overs.
Zimbabwe’s Beloved Biza starred with the ball, taking 3 for 22 while fellow teammate Josephine Nkomo also picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs.
In response, Zimbabwe chased down the target comfortably, scoring 153 for 5 in 39.1 overs. Both Biza and Nkomo put in superb all-round efforts, with top scores of 38 off 51 balls and 33 off 45 balls, respectively.
The next match will take place on Sunday, October 20 at the Harare Sports Club.
