Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz looked in great touch in the ongoing game against England in the ICC World Cup 2023. But a poor call from his captain saw him getting run out in match 13 of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz took Afghanistan off the flier as he batted magnificently well and played some crisp shots. The batter put England bowlers under great pressure as he smashed them all over the park and looked set for a big knock, with the way he was timing the ball.
But to his poor luck, he was run out. It happened during the 19th over when Adil Rashid bowled a flighted delivery on off stump. Hashmatullah Shahidi went for a drive but he got it off the inner half of the bat towards short mid-wicket.
As soon as he hit the shot, he ran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz responded to his captain’s call. The fielder ran in quickly and quickly threw the ball to Jos Buttler. The Afghanistan batter put in the dive but was well short of his crease as the England captain removed stumps in a flash.
