Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav were engaged in a horrible mixup during the 21st game of the ICC World Cup 2023 against New Zealand. The two undefeated teams are clashing with each other at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Virat Kohli is acing another chase but is falling short of partners at the other end. India batters have got the starts but they haven’t capitalised on that. Suryakumar Yadav, who came in after the fall of KL Rahul, looked good to eyes and tried to form the partnership.
But a horrible mixup with Virat Kohli saw him back in the hut. It happened on the second last ball of the 34th over when Suryakumar Yadav pushed a ball from Trent Boult towards cover and ran immediately. The non-striker had an eye on the ball and was waiting to get past the fielder.
But Micthell Santner put in a great effort and stopped the ball. This put Virat Kohli in doubt and he didn’t run for the single. Suryakumar Yadav had taken off and reached towards the other end. New Zealand too had a mixup as Santner threw the ball to Boult who was nowhere and in the middle of the pitch.
However, despite that, they managed to effect an easy run-out as Trent Boult then flicked the ball under-arm back to Tom Latham, who then did the rest to effect an easy runout.

Had Virat Kohli run for the single, he would’ve made it but he didn’t want to risk his wicket. Suryakumar Yadav fell for 2 runs off 4 balls. The pressure is on India as they can’t afford to lose more wickets in the match.

Virat Kohli continues his golden touch against New Zealand as he has batted magnificently well in the ongoing game. The batter brought up his half-century and is looking focused, with his eyes set on the target. Till the time he’s on the crease, India has a great chance to win.
This was Virat Kohli’s fourth fifty-plus score in the ICC World Cup 2023. He smashed a century in the last game at Pune against Bangladesh. With the he’s batting, he looks set for another ton. But before that, his focus will be to take India home.
