After the match, Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to hail Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma for their performances. The master blaster also noted that different players performed in both games so far which is a good thing for India.

Rohit Sharma also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s elite record. Sharma slammed his 7th century in the ODI World Cup to smash the most tons in the tournament’s history. Earlier, Tendulkar held the record with 6 centuries.
Talking about the match, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (21) and Ibrahim Zadran (22) could not hit big knocks. However, skipper Hashmatuallah Shahidi scored a brilliant knock of 80 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai also scored 62 runs to take the scoreboard to 272-8 in 50 overs.
However, Afghanistan, who were expected to reach 300 plus total at one stage, could not capture many runs in the death overs due to Jasprit Bumrah’s outstanding spell. The Indian pacer leaked just 39 runs in his 10 overs to grab 4 wickets. Hardik Pandya picked 2 wickets while Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav hunted 1 scalp each.
During the chase, Indian opener Rohit Sharma shattered a marvelous knock of 131 runs to make it a lopsided victory for India. With Virat Kohli’s hitting unbeaten half-century, India chased down the target by 8 wickets in just 35 overs.
India will next face Pakistan on Saturday, October 14. The venue of the IND vs PAK encounter is Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
