Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his maiden Test double hundred in the ongoing red-ball match against England in Visakhapatnam. Yashasvi Jaiswal has joined the elite list of legends Sunil Gavaskar and Vinod Kambli after achieving this milestone on Day 2.

Jaiswal resumed the second day with a score of 179 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. The left-handed batter needed just eight overs to reach the double hundred. He contributed to the team despite wickets failing from the other end.

The young opener became the third youngest Indian batter to secure a double century in Test cricket, following Vinod Kambli and Sunil Gavaskar. Jaiswal surpassed former Indian captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who achieved it at the age of 23 years and 34 days.

Vinod Kambli stands as the youngest Indian cricketer to hit a double century in Test cricket. Kambli accomplished this feat at 21 years and 32 days against England at Wankhede Stadium on February 19, 1993. Sunil Gavaskar reached the milestone of 21 years and 277 days.
